The making of a man and a movie

14 years ago I walked the narrow backstreets of Athens in the dark. I was young, scared, lonely, insecure, but also full of hope for the things to come. My journey as a refugee in search for a better future had just begun and little did I know that there was a long, hard way ahead of me. I had set out to conquer the world, but God had already planned to conquer my heart. He used the winding path of uncertainties and unplanned and often unpleasant events of my life to catch my attention and to draw me close to him. Today I am amazed of how God used all those puzzle pieces of my odyssey across Europe for the “making of” who I have become now.

This June we had travelled from Germany to Greece for the making of more evangelistic short films for Afghans, among them a little documentary film about my life story. It will portrait the making of a young Muslim man in search for a better life. Once it is published publicly its purpose is to encourage and strengthen other young refugees who are on the same search like I was before.

You will find the link to this little movie here on our webpage, as soon as it is out.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect:
but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 3:12-14)
